ABOVE: X = advantage Here is my break down... For the Quarterback, I gave the X to us. Brees played great last game, I hope he will continue to play well this game too. I am not a fan of Josh McCown. Running back, well we have Ladainian Tomlinson enough said and now we have him for 8 more years. Wide Receiver I gave the X to both teams, With Boldin out for awhile that leaves only Fitzgerald. With Larry being a rookie he might have some troubles, but on the other side we don't have anyone to beat Larry. So its a tie, because as of right now I would take Dyson over Fitzgerald. Half way trough the season... well that's a different story. Tight End, I am still with Gates and give the advantage to the Chargers. Gates had a great touchdown catch in the Colts game. Offensive Tackles, I gave to us. I am starting to like our offensive line, they gave up no sacks in the Colts game. Offensive Guard is all the Cardinals because of Leonard Davis. Centers, I gave to the Cardinals, we have a walk on from Purdue playing center. I hope we sign Ball back soon. Defensive Tackle, I gave to the Chargers, Jamal Williams is looking better and as always we have Igor Olshansky. Defensive end I gave to the Chargers Igor might move over to DE for some of this game and Dingle will play. Line Backers I gave to the Chargers, The cardinals just don't have the talent yet at the linebacker position Corner Backs are our advantage also, Jamar Fletcher is looking good and Jammer was putting fear in those Colts running backs when they caught passes in the flat. Safeties I gave to us we have Kiel and Lassiter starting and to me that is better then anything the Cardinals will go with. Kicker and Punter both go to the Cardinals, for kicker Bill Gramtica has the experience over Kaeding. Punter the Cardinals have one of the best in the league with Sean Player.
On paper the Chargers have the advantage, so that's why my prediction is: Cardinals-- 10 Chargers-- 28 - Chargers should get the big "W" in this game. Score: Cardinals --13 Chargers -- 38
Offensive MVP -- Drew Brees (13/21, 172 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) Defensive MVP -- Steve Cooper (5 tackles, 1 Safety) Big Bust -- Our cornerbacks, too many holding / pass interference calls Big Surprise -- Zeke Moreno Player that should be signed -- Luke Powell (#6) WR/KR Player that should be cut -- Joe Germaine (#15) QB
Wrap up -- The 3-4 defense looked more shaky this game, no INTs, only 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Steve Cooper once again did great getting a safety and 5 tackles. The 2 sacks came from Shaun Phillips and Dave Ball, they both forced a fumble too. Our cornerbacks had way to many fouls called on them. We did only allow 13 points, on the positive side. Offense wise, we did great, 38 points scored, we'll 7 was a punt return and 4 are causes by safety's. So that's 27 points scored just by the offense. Drew Brees did good again and the offensive line gave up only 1 sack. There were a lot of big passes and catches, that is always good. Michael Turner looked better this game with 54 yards. Special Teams did the best this game I would have to say. A fake field goal for a TD, a punt return for a TD, 2/2 on field goals and extra points, and some really long kick of returns.
