Tomlinson: The
Best Running Back in the NFL

Lets give credit were
credit is due, taken in the 2001 NFL draft, Ladainian Tomlinson is the best. He
is hardly on Sports Center because he doesn't dance, sign balls, and act stupid.
He came from Texas Christian University (TCU). So his Christian values go onto
the field with him. Tomlinson being humble hurt his Pro Bowl chances in 2003 and
credit for all his records he set. I would much rather have a humble back then a
Terrell Owens. Here are his stats:
In red I have his attempts
and yards in the last two years. In 59 less attempts he almost got the same
amount of yards as he did in 2003. Also
add in
100 catches too!! He is getting better and better. No injuries, no off-field
worries, no hold-outs, and no dancing. He has had four, 200 yard games in his
career (2 last year). The all time record for most in a career is 6. He has 4
and no doubt he will get more in 2004. In 2003 he became the only player to rush
for more then 1,000 yards and catch 100 passes. Ladainian Tomlinson has proven
that he can take the work load, getting 1,645 yards in 2003 behind an awful
line. Awful is too nice lets go with to terrible for NFL Europe. Toniu Fonoti,
Phil Bogle, Bob Hallen, Damion McIntosh, Solomon Page, and Vaughn Parker all
missed a lot of games. Parker, Hallen and Page on IR for season ending injuries.
We had to bring in some 4th string guy called Ed Ellis for our offensive line.
This is all confusing so I made a chart...
Player
Week Hurt
-Toniu
Fonoti (G)
-Mini Camp
- Solomon Page (T)
-Week 3
- Bob Hallen (T)
-Week 6
- Phil Bogle (T)
-Week 15
- Vaughn Parker (T)
-Week 3
- Courtney Van Buren
(G)
-Week 15
Now also keep in mind
that all these players and the few healthy ones were moved around almost every
game, so they were playing new positions. As you can see above just how
shameful our offensive line
was in
2003 keep in mind that Tomlinson got 1,645 yards AND 100 catches, which set a
record. To wrap it up, Holmes has injury problems, Lewis has off-field issues
with drugs, Green fumbles too much, and Davis injury problems. Clinton Portis is
not a contender compared to Tomlinson. When playing the Colts, Portis was hurt,
and a rookie no one ever heard of came in and got 100+ yards. This shows that
Portis did no work, his offensive line did. Now in Washington lets see what he
can do. Tomlinson lead the NFL in yards from the line of scrimmage with 2,300+
yards. He was 2nd in the AFC with 100 receptions and rushing yards (1,645).
Tomlinson is getting better and better each year with less carries and an
offensive line that well couldn't block one of Steven Seagal's action packed
punches. In closing Ladainian Tomlinson with a offensive line like the one in
Baltimore he could easily have 2,000 yards in one season.
